Senior Quality Engineer

Overview

The role of the Space project Quality Engineer is to lead all Product and Quality Assurance tasks for the next generation of Space Inertial Sensors for Commercial and Science applications. This includes managing all quality-related matters during all phases of the space projects and ensuring that the tasks and commitments defined in the PA plans are performed to the required standard.
 
Other responsibilities outside of space projects are to support the development, maintain and improve a compliant quality system and promote a quality culture throughout the organization.
 

Responsibilities

  • Managing all quality-related matters during all phases of the space projects (from development to production of complex space products).

  • Implementing and performing the space project PA plans.

  • Managing the integration of activities defined in PA plan ( EEE, materials mechanical parts and process, dependability).

  • Ensuring the implementation of document management and record, reviewing document and engineering drawings.

  • Managing the non conformity/deviation/alert /critical item control process.

  • Acting as a single point of contact for all space quality-related activities of customers and external suppliers.

  • Supporting the development and follow-up of the supply chain to meet project requirements.

  • Leading on manufacturing process surveillance.

  • Participating in design /engineering reviews.

  • Participating in customers'/suppliers’ reviews.

  • Managing space projects internal/external audit.

  • Support the development, maintain and improvement of a compliant quality system and promote a quality culture throughout the Organisation.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as quality engineer/manager position in a highly regulated environment (Aerospace, defense, medical device, pharmaceutical).

  • Minimum 1-year experience in the development/production of a space application product following ECSS standards and participating in PDR/CDR/QR type of reviews.

  • Ensuring that tasks and products are compliant with customer requirements and follow internal process/ PA plan.
  • Working to tight deadlines and meeting agreed-to monthly targets.
  • Supporting project to pass project reviews and milestones.

 

Special Requirements

The potential need for travel outside of Ireland (supplier meeting/review/audit and customer meeting, review).

  • Internal auditor certification.
  • Risk analysis (FMEA, PFMEA).
